The day is roughly broken into four modules outlined below:-
The innovation ecosystem
Many organisation point to an "Innovation Funnel" when asked about their current innovation activities. But there is far more to innovation than a funnel - it's broad and messy and requires a blend of both art and science. This session covers how innovation really works in the real world and is littered with anecdotes from Andrew's past 30 years of leading and participating in innovation initiatives.
Where do you look for innovation inspiration? Are you continuously scanning the horizon for signals and trends that will shape the future of your role, company, industry and even society itself? When you find items of interest, what do you do with them?
This is a hands-on session where participants are guided through a range of horizon scanning sources which they then apply using Andrew's custom TIPS workbook to begin framing future opportunities and threats.
Have you ever thought how a Futurist envisions the multiple possible paths the future might take from this point forward?
There is one simple, powerful technique that is easily learned and applied during this session that will help you see the world around you in a different light forever after - enabling you to expand (explode) your ideas into winning strategies, new products and services and shaping the future for all.
This is a hands-on session where participants work alone for a short period after being introduced to the technique and then the results are shared with the rest of the group.
The Innovation Radar
Have you ever been asked "what's on your radar?"?
In this final session of the day, you will be shown how to classify your work in order to bring focus to your innovation activities - helping you to decide what to ignore (and why) and helping to prioritise and facilitate conversations around what to look for and what to do next.
This Masterclass is ideal for incorporation into an executive strategy retreat or for uniting multiple, cross-functional teams in order to baseline everyone's understanding of innovation and their contribution to accelerating the entire organisation to become more innovative.
